Oh Java Jazz!

It's been quite a while since I last blogged. Been up to a lot of things the past few weeks. But I sure won't like to let this one pass without sharing with you. This is one of my newest favorite stops in Tagaytay. It's been a while since we visited this place but I never got to blog about it because a lot of *other* priorities got in the way. But hah! I won't let this one go!

It's easy to miss it, but have you been to the Java Jazz café? It's located at #442, Sungay West Calamba Road Tagaytay City. It's a small cafe that doesn't really stand out because of it's brown paint and bungalow style, save for the small signage saying that it's actually a coffee shop. Oh but it looks really pretty in the evening. The red lights and the very laidback-in-a-hipster-kind-of-way atmosphere reminds me of stores at Cubao X.

We were looking for a place to just chill and chat, and Java Jazz was the perfect place for that rainy night. It was warm and very welcoming. It's actually an art cafe, and we were totally charmed with what we saw inside.

Everything was made of wood. The ones that grabbed the most attention were the japanese-styled low tables and 'banig' where you could sit down while you eat or chat away.

The walls were adorned with various sketches, paintings, and old photos. Probably by the owner or his friends, we're really not sure lol. But what we're sure of was it made the place so cool and cozy.

They also had a mini store at one corner where theysold random items like boxes, wallets, pouches, mail holders, book holders, and et cetera.

And the FOOD. My goodness don't get me started on THE FOOD. Everything that they served us were SO GOOOOD!!

The corn soup was super sulit for 70 pesos, much much larger than those they serve in Shakey's or Pizza Hut, and it's actually enough for two people.

We also got to try the Spicy Beef Binagoongan sa Gata. We first wondered why the serving seemed too small, pero sobrang malasa pala sya kaya perfect na.

And what made me super happy was the creamy bacon with mushroom pasta. It came with slices of garlic bread and it was bursting with creamy flavor, complimented by the crisp of bacon. It really made me happy. Haha.

And of course the coffee! We tried their Kapeng Barako and Tsokolate-Eh. They were served  with classic biscuits that were equally good. I loved them both but Papa Ray found the Kapeng Barako too bitter for his taste buds. But we both really enjoyed the Tsokolate-Eh. :D

So here goes the obligatory selfie. Hoho! It's really a great place for relaxing conversations, and 'planning', like what we did. The people were very warm and accommodating, and the food was really SUPERB and affordable. I'd highly highly recommend this to all friends dropping by Tagaytay, it's a delightful place!

They also offer lodging, where for only PHP1000, you get to have our own room AND BREAKFAST. Super affordable right?? Just thinking of being served their super delicious meal for FREE was exciting enough for me. The rooms are pretty small and simple though, but it does have air conditioning. :D And really, I liked how nice everyone was.

So there! I would LOVE to visit this again!
